A little bit of Lace

a-little-bit-of-lace

In the studio to-day and this is my current work in progress it will be a small piece only about 20cm x 20cm (7 inches x 7 inches).  It is rather a tongue in cheek look at the fact that most people don’t do dress-making any more.

The title “A little bit of lace” comes from a Great Aunt – who was a wonderful dress-maker, and was often heard saying;-

“A little bit of cream

And a little bit of lace,

Does you no harm”

  1. Hi Karen, love the idea behind the photo…and your Great Aunt’s words too!

  3. This is going to be beautiful! It reminds me of two very talented folks I just visited. The lovely lady made interesting quilts and one of her favorite thing to do was melt onion bags right on to the fabric. It made the most interesting texture. But she used a lot of copper in her pieces and your colors reminded me of her. I want to see it when it’s finished.
