A visual journal

Lovely January Day

A lovely, lovely day to-day, and the longest time that I have spent in the garden for some months.

I cut back some of the old hellebore leaves – to give the buds some air.

You didn’t tell me I had to do that! Just as well you are coming over next week. Will have to provide some lunch for yourself and Shedman now to pay for the gardening materclass I am expecting!!

  2. Thanks for the reminder, although once I remove the old leaves I will have an all brown garden. Karen, a lovely photo. gail

  3. Are there buds already? – I’ll have to have a look under my foliage once I get a nice day without rain!

  4. I have been cutting back the old leaves too this last week or so – I seem to leave it later every year. It’s great to see the buds plumping out.

  5. Dobby – I thought you knew 🙂

Gail – I have now finished cutting all the leaves back, and as you say the garden look brown, but not for long hopefully.

Easygardener – Have you looked yet? Have you got buds?

Anna – it is lovely to see the plum buds, I think I do it when I am desperate to see some flowers in the garden
