I went up to my garden today, and found that one of my hellebores has a flower and the other two have nice big fat buds. It doesn’t even look as if I have to remove any old leaves. Perhaps the slugs did it for me!
Seeing your photo, perhaps some nice grasses would look good in my new bed. Just need to find the right ones to go with a background of the slate fence. Ideas?

What a beautiful capture. I love the sun shining through. That is definitely one of my favorite grasses.

  4. Jen, Gail and Dobby, thanks for taking time to leave comments.
Glad you like the picture. The sun was glorious here to-day, so really lifted my spirits. This sedge, which can look a bit brown and dull during the height of the summer really comes into its own just now.

  5. Lovely picture and light effect. I do like sedges, so do my cats unfortunately. Any plant near the path back to the house has had a brush cut!
