First Dandelion

The promised snow did not arrive, and we had an altogether glorious day – which was nice as I went back to work (as a gardener).

This is the first dandelion that I have spotted in the garden – last year I noticed them for GBBD, 15th March.

  1. I used to notice them more when we had Rabbits and Guinea Pigs to feed. Why do dandelions always seed into tiny cracks in paving, in pots or next to delicate little plants they then proceed to flatten!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it was snowing further inland this evening. I didn’t notice any dandelions on Sunday. Hopefully I have stunted their growth as they were covered by ground sheets for the summer and autumn. We shall soon see no doubt.

  3. I think I need to know more about dandelions. There’s such a big difference between their leaves, especially.

  5. The people who lived here before loved dandelions because they had tortoise – so we have loads, and yes Lucy – there is a variety of leaves to the plants, I think it depends on where in the garden they are growing.
However different the leaves are – they are all ****** to dig up.
    Thanks for the comments.
