Premature Peony?

peony

Last year I divided a peony for a customer.

I planted the divisions around his garden,

And bunged one in a pot here at home.

(As you do).

I thought I would see if it was still alive – as my garden peonies have started to grow ….

It is very much alive, and seems to think it is summer.

What a stunning photo and plant. I do hope mine grows this year. It is showing a small amount of growth. Hopefully it will catch up.

    • Yours should grow quite well this year Dobby – although it is a different variety from the one in the picture.

  4. Well it sounds as though you do indeed have green fingers! I’ve never grown Peonies myself but the new growth always looks wonderful!

  6. I’d like to try another paeony (I’ve just got the old fashioned double red one) but they all up and die when I do. My dryish light soil I expect. I must try to find a reliable variety that isn’t red or pink – if one exists.
