Fed Up!

raindrop

I am totally fed-up today ….

August is supposed to be a glorious month,

Golden sunshine, warm breeze and happy days

Not this year, “bring back summer” I say.

Perhaps we should start a petition. What was all that about global warming? Plant your gardens with plants that don’t need watering. At least you haven’t got to keep the hosepipe on your leaky pond!

    Oh! Don’t be fed up!

Nasturtiums are a good choice to cheer you. The way the rain never sticks to the leaves. It’s worth pouring water of them just to see it fall off. And the way they still look wonderful and interesting when caterpillars have eaten all the green bits off and left the leaf like spokes. And the wonderful little ball-seeds which make it almost always certain there will be new nasturtiums next year.

    Don’t be fed up . . . except . . . er . . . I hope your nasturtiums are doing better than mine are!

  4. It is sunny here (today) but it will not last I’m sure. Even so I will optimistically put out the cushions on the garden chairs – and take them back in tonight! Sad.

too right.what happened to long hot days?they were in may,i think. Today is dry here, but lots of cloud,so the butterflies stay away.only the flies-trillions in august-continue to buzz round, and land in the lunch….
